(01) What it is
The project
Mowvi is the startup I'm building. Homeowners book a lawn care job with an upfront price, approved local pros claim it, and they upload photos when they finish. The customer's payment is held at booking and only captured once the job is complete.
It's one Expo app with a customer mode and a pro mode, a Supabase and PostgreSQL backend, Stripe for payments, and a Next.js admin dashboard for handling problems. A lot of the rules live in the database itself through row level security, so the app can't do anything the backend doesn't allow.
(02) Details
How it works
- 01Customer and pro apps share a single Expo codebase
- 02Prices are calculated on the server, never trusted from the app
- 03Payment is held at booking and captured after the job is marked complete with photos
- 04Every payment is reconciled in a ledger
- 05Admin dashboard behind multi factor authentication
- 06Integration tests run against the full local Supabase stack
